Portland Opera’s Big Night + Much More!

There is never a dull weekend in Portland, Oregon! Hotel Modera has put a list of events together for the fourth weekend in September. Can you believe it is almost October?!

Portland Art Museum

This Friday evening, stop by the Museum to enjoy free admission from 5-8 p.m. Visitors can browse the permanent collection or participate in guided tours of the Jubitz Center for Modern and Contemporary Art and the Northwest Art Collection at 6 and 6:30 p.m. Free Fourth Friday’s also feature live music and cheap eats from some of Portland’s best food carts in the Museum’s courtyard.

Portland Opera’s 47th Season starts on a spectacular, star-studded note! Soprano Maria Kanyova and tenor Roger Honeywell headline a special evening of opera hits—your favorite opera arias and duets from the world’s most popular operas. There’s a place from which nothing escapes, not even light, where time and space literally come to end. It’s at this point, inside this fantastic riddle, that black holes exert their sway over the cosmos … and our imaginations. Travel through other-worldly wormholes, experience the creation of the Milky Way Galaxy, and witness the violent death of a star and subsequent birth of a black hole. Journey to the Stars explores the birth, life, and death of stars, and why they are important to us. Peacock Productions, Inc. proudly presents the 4th Annual Peacock After Dark, benefitting the Audria M. Edwards Scholarship Fund. This signature event was highly acclaimed in its first three years and promises to be even more lavish in its fourth installment. Attendees at last year’s Peacock After Dark were thrilled by the level of talent and glamour brought to the stage by a widely diverse cast. This year’s show will once again feature the most elite entertainers in the Pacific Northwest and beyond.

The dynamic and beautiful Maria will be your hostess along with the stunning and witty Poison Waters.
