Zoolights at the Oregon Zoo

Portland’s Holiday Express

Departing from the Oaks Station, adjacent to Oaks Park in Sellwood, this family-friendly train rides between the Willamette River and Oaks Bottom Wildlife Refuge, with Santa taking the helm and his elves spreading cheer along the way. This seasonal adventure comes courtesy of the Oregon Rail Heritage Foundation, whose brand-new Oregon Rail Heritage Center in the Eastside Industrial district is now accessible via Portland Streetcar.
The Grotto’s Christmas Festival of Lights

Presenting the sights, sounds, and sensations of the season, The Grotto’s Christmas Festival of Lights is the largest Christmas choral festival in the world. The 2012 festival features nearly 180 indoor holiday concerts performed by many of the region’s finest school, church, and civic choirs. Offering a family-oriented blend of traditional celebration and serene reflection, the 2012 festival theme “Angels on High” reflects the season of hope that Christmas offers to many thousands of families around the Pacific Northwest.
Christmas Ship Parade
When: December 7th – 21st, 2012
Where: Along the Willamette & Columbia Rivers

Portland’s Christmas Ship Parade is an annual event on the Columbia and Willamette rivers. The parade features an average of 50-60 boats, decked out in holiday lights, each night. The Portland Christmas Ship Parade can be viewed from a number of different public parks, bridges, and other locations.
